...are known intimately by children, and the memory of attachments to certain characters and tales retains a nostalgic, romantic link with the innocence of childhood.

Yet beneath the romance and chivalry lurks a frightening and sinister world of incest, jealousy, rage and scandal long forgotten.

This is the inspiration for my textiles, found in the older versions of popular fairy tales. More specifically, I am inspired by the discovery of the sinister depth within my favourite tales and the concept of beauty and romance masking cruelty, brutality and evil.
